The Femurs

Regardless of the pluralized name, the Femurs began in NY in 1998 with just one single member — Rob Schaeffer aka Rob Femur — who ultimately remaining the East Coast behind to head west. Following a stopover in Santa Cruz along with a detour of a couple weeks in Olympia, WA, Rob hitched his method to Seattle, where he eventually resolved down in 2000 and connected in his four-track to record. Playing brief and basic pop songs mainly constructed around three chords, the Femurs’ self-titled recording made an appearance in 2004 on Homespun Information; it was a variety of electrical and acoustic like tunes that resulted from the same admiration from the Ramones and Jonathan Richman. Ultimately, Schaeffer’s longtime friend and musical collaborator Colin remaining the fast speed of NY and produced his method to the Pacific Northwest to synergy with Rob, officially turning the Femurs right into a duo. The close friends continuing cranking out their indie pop/rock and roll ditties, sharing responsibilities within the drums, vocals, and acoustic guitar both in the studio room and on-stage. In 2005, the six-song EP Jack port Cafferty vs. Chuck Scarborough premiered. The recording was adopted up in nov 2007 with Contemporary Mexico, a full-length record comprised of two previously released EPs. Colin Femur remaining the music group in the summertime of 2008, and Rob again surely got to composing and documenting by himself. These tunes eventually led to the Ride Jointly EP, released immediately after in November 2008. Rob, who acquired previously also performed in the neighborhood band Loveless as well as the Goodnight Path, went on to become listed on Seattle power pop-punk music group the Cute Lepers as drummer with the year’s end.
