Spearheaded by frontman and leader Liam McCormick, the San Francisco-based orchestral indie rock and roll outfit the Family Crest originally started as an test in trying for connecting a music community. Seeking to record with whoever wished to become a part of the task, McCormick, along with co-founder John Seeterlin, reached out through flyers, close friends, and the web, documenting music with anyone who responded and piecing it jointly to make the band’s debut EP, 2010’s Music in the Valley Below.
