Formed within the autumn of 2001, the Evens — Ian MacKaye (Small Threat, Accept, Fugazi) on baritone guitar and vocals and Amy Farina from the Warmers on drums and vocals — released their self-titled debut on Dischord within the planting season of 2005. With a far more laid-back audio than MacKaye’s previous work (beyond some paths on Fugazi’s 1999 Device soundtrack) along with a relatively much less angular approach compared to the Warmers, the Evens honed their hard-to-nail-down atmospheric folk-esque audio through intensive touring. In 2004, they added a music (“On the facial skin from it”) towards the Protest Information site, and their music “Vowel Motion” was presented within the Washington, D.C. children show Pancake Hill. The music group spent the greater section of 2005 touring the U.S. and came back in 2006 with sophomore launch Get Evens. Even more touring ensued, but by the beginning of 2008 Farina and MacKaye (also a few) were anticipating their first kid. Their daughter was created in May of this year and it might be years prior to the music group regrouped with 2012’s follow-up third recording, THE CHANCES, released past due in the entire year.
