Truly warped funk/dub ensemble the Eternals combined the talents of Damon Hair (vocals, keyboards, special EFX), Wayne Montana (bass, melodica, guitar, keyboards), and Dan Fliegel (percussion, guitar, keyboards). Montana and Hair spent years collectively within the overlooked Trenchmouth, and Fliegel spent period with users of Tortoise as Tom Zé’s support music group during touring. Similar to Trenchmouth, but with much less emphasis on acoustic guitar, the Chicago-based Eternals threw collectively several affects — from Lee Perry towards the Headhunters to Gang of Four — putting rhythm because the concentrate with melody and sound not much behind. After liberating two singles on Excitement Jockey in 1999, the Eternals produced their self-titled full-length debut on DeSoto a 12 months later on. In 2004 the music group added drummer Tim Mulvenna (from the Vandermark 5) and released Rawar Style, that was implemented in 2006 with the EP Great Anxiety, a assortment of remixes. Large International, the 3rd studio album, premiered in 2007.
