The Essex Green

Neo-psychedelic pop outfit the Essex Green were shaped in middle-1997 after 4 members from the Burlington, VT-based Guppyboy — singer/guitarist Chris Ziter, singer/keyboardist Sasha Bell, guitarist Jeff Baron, and bassist Mike Barrett — relocated to Brooklyn, NY. Completing the lineup with drummer Tim Barnes, the group made an appearance at various NEW YORK night clubs before touring the East Coastline with Aden and Saturnine, liberating a split solitary with the 6th Great Lake within the springtime of 1999. The Essex Green’s full-length debut, Everything Is usually Green, made an appearance on Kindercore later on that year, along with a self-titled EP on Elephant6 adopted in early 2000; concurrently, both Bell and Baron performed within the likeminded Ladybug Transistor and, with the help of Zachary Ward, moonlighted because the above mentioned 6th Great Lake, liberating Up the united states for Kindercore. Bell (saving because the Finishing College) also released the beautiful and overlooked 2003 recording Destination Lady. In 2004, the Essex Green inked a cope with Merge and released The Long Goodbye like a trio (Barrett having remaining the group), chasing it up with the best possible record of the profession, 2006’s Cannibal Ocean.
