The Ergs

Biography

Three willfully geeky men from NJ who play pop-punk with swiftness, power, along with a mighty smirk (which occasionally belies the actual fact they sometimes mean what they state), the Ergs (or, because they prefer to call themselves, “The Near-Sighted Three”) came together in 2000, with Jeffrey Erg (Jeff Schroeck) on guitar and vocals, Joey Erg (Joe Keller) on bass, and Mikey Erg (Mike Yannich) on drums and lead vocals. The music group wasted virtually no time protecting their music for posterity, placing out two self-released CD-Rs within their initial year being a music group, however the group initial attracted interest outside their peer group using the five-song Three Men, Twelve Eye EP, released with the Whoa Oh label in 2001. Within a bid to improve their profile when you are sued, the Ergs following released The Ben Kweller EP in 2002. It lent the artwork from Kweller’s disk EP Phone House and highlighted a tune poking less-than-charitable fun on the indie rock and roll protégé. In 2003, the Ergs released their initial full-length record, Dorkrockcorkrod, which gained enthusiastic reviews within the punk press and pass on word in regards to the music group outside of their house state. After a short discharge on Whoa Oh, the record was found by Don Giovanni Information, which distributed the Ergs’ following EP, 2005’s Jersey’s Greatest Prancers (whose name and artwork was a play on the 1997 Life time record). In 2006, the group was selected to back again Dave Parasite from the Parasites as he released a tour to aid a Parasites best-of Compact disc, and they agreed upon with Dirtnap Information, which planned the band’s second full-length record, tentatively known as Upstairs/Downstairs, for the springtime of 2007.
