The Duskfall

Hailing from the city of Lulea in the north of Sweden, Duskfall was formed as a casual side task by guitarists Mikael Sandorf (ex-Gates of Ishtar) and Glenn Svensson in 1999. Quickly choosing to focus all their energies on the brand new group, Sandorf and Svensson proceeded to utilize a wide array of music artists before buying a well balanced lineup comprising vocalist Kai Jaakkola, bassist Kaj Molin, and drummer Oskar Karlsson by 2001. Exhibiting a vicious however melodic death steel style similar to rings like Dark Tranquillity and In Flames, the quintet’s debut record, Frailty, highlighted Magnus Olsson on business lead guitar and premiered in 2002 by Greece’s Dark Lotus Records. Obviously looking for a long lasting soloist, the music group employed shredder Joachim Lindbäck to displace Svensson before documenting 2003’s sophomore record Source.
