The Dooleys

This family pop group from Ilford, Essex, Britain, was based around siblings Jim, Frank, Anne, Kathy (all b. Ilford, Essex, Britain) and John Dooley (b. Whitechapel, London, Britain). They sang as an organization for their family members, however in 1973 made a decision to try to switch professional. Their musical accompaniment was supplied by Frank on business lead electric guitar, John on tempo, in addition to the addition of ‘outsiders’ Bob Walsh (bass) and Alan Boean (b. Oldham, Lancashire, Britain; drums). In 1976 they produced their own cut of background by becoming the very first English performing group to tour the Soviet Union.
