Guitarist Steve Morse and bassist Andy Western world performed jointly as high-school learners in Augusta, GA, in a typical rock band known as Dixie Grit. When Morse was expelled from college for refusing to trim his locks, he enrolled on the School of Miami College of Music, where he fulfilled violinist Allen Sloan, who acquired used the Miami Philharmonic, and drummer Fishing rod Morgenstein.
