The Disciples

Biography

A United Kingdom root base/dub reggae music group and early protegees of Jah Shaka. The Disciples had been produced by Russ D and his sibling Loi, whose’s no more an associate, around 1985. They released their initial record Deliverance, in 1987 on Jah Shaka Ruler from the Zula Tribe Information, and released three even more albums in following years on Shaka’s label. In 1991 they constructed their own audio system for gigging, and financed an effective 12-inches saving entitled Prowling Lion in 1993, releasing it all on the newly started Boom-Shacka-Lacka Information. In 1996 they began another label Backyard Actions Information for the only real reason for issuing modern Reggae, Jungle, Techno, Jazz, and Globe music. For ten years, the Disciples continues to be part of a remarkable set of 7, 10 & 12 inches releases, and so are also featured on many recordings of other performers.
