The Deuce Coupes


Two albums were released with the Deuce Coupes in 1963, one on Crown Information (Shut Downs) and something on Del-Fi Information (Hotrodder’s Choice), and even though both were filled with the hot rod-themed music and instrumentals which were popular at that time, they were in fact two different groupings sporting exactly the same name. The Del-Fi edition from the Deuce Coupes grew from the Avantis, produced by brothers Lolly Vegas and Pat Vegas, who continue to popularity in the 1970s as Redbone. The duo documented Scorching Rodder’s Choice because the Deuce Coupes supported by a band of split L.A. program players, including Glen Campbell, Hal Blaine, Tommy Tedesco, and Leon Russell. By 1965 underneath had slipped from the scorching rod boom, as well as the brothers Vegas slipped the Deuce Coupes name and shifted to other projects. The Crown Information edition from the Deuce Coupes was several session players tossed jointly to capitalize in the move strip craze.
