The Dave & Deke Combo, a band of LA country rockabillies, contain three Midwest transplants — leaders Dave Stuckey and Deke Dickerson, plus drummer Lance — and only 1 West Coastline native, bassist Shorty. After liberating many 7″ singles and an EP, the group’s recording debut, Moonshine Melodies, made an appearance in 1993 within the English label No Strike Records. After shifting to Heyday in 1995, the Dave & Deke Combo released Hollywood Barn Dance the next year.
