The D.O.T.

Produced in 2011 in the ashes of two musical endeavors which were poles apart, the D.O.T. may be the brainchild of Mike Skinner and Rob Harvey. Having released three albums between 2002 and 2008, rockers the Music scrapped programs for a 4th in 2011, departing Leeds-born vocalist Harvey searching for his next route. On the other hand, Mike Skinner was getting his U.K. garage-infused rap task the Roads to a properly planned halt, launching what will be their last album, Computer systems and Blues. Having fulfilled at various celebrations thrown for shared friends — frequently through the supervisor who they both distributed — the set discovered themselves in the same studio room, with Skinner welcoming Harvey to include vocals to a small number of the Roads’ last paths. So thinking about working collectively, they shaped the D.O.T. and documented and released their debut recording on Skinner’s label the Beats in 2012. Powered along by Harvey’s emotive, effective vocal design and fueled by Skinner’s willing production skills, aswell as an hearing for popular melody, WHICH included “You Under no circumstances Asked,” an individual which presented oddball Detroit rapper Danny Dark brown and vocalist Clare Maguire. Having toured the U.K. and Japan, the duo lost virtually no time in saving the follow-up, Journal. Made available in-may 2013, this time around through Cooking Vinyl fabric, Diary presented the ballad and business lead single “Bloodstream, Perspiration and Tears” along with “HOW EXACTLY WE All Lay,” which highlighted greatest Skinner’s decision to rap much less and sing even more.
