The Crabs

Houston garage rock and roll combo the Crabs formed in 1966 — years as a child friends Robbie Leff (vocals/electric guitar) and drummer Alec Smith co-founded the group, with business lead guitarist Jerry DeJong and bassist Ed Rudnick later on rounding out the lineup. The group honed their acidity punk strategy playing United kingdom Invasion addresses at regional nightclubs, eventually putting your signature on on with supervisor and regional bandleader Pal Brock; in 1967 the Crabs documented their lone one, “Run after Yourself,” released on Brock’s General label and a smash in elements of Tx and Louisiana. Whatever guarantee the band’s potential kept was squashed when Smith resigned to wait university and Leff relocated to LA to pursue a profession like a songwriter — performers including Alice Cooper and Johnny Winter season later documented his materials, and he also loved a brief single profession that included the novelty work “Canasta.” Years later on the Crabs gained the interest of garage area and psych enthusiasts when “Run after Yourself” merited addition around the 12th level of the Saturated in the Sixties series aswell as the three-disc Acid solution Visions: THE ENTIRE Collection, Vol. 1.
