The Cordells

Combined with the initial Harold Melvin & the Bluenotes, the Dreamlovers, as well as others, the Cordells were among Philadelphia’s pioneering R&B groups. The users had been Jimmy Ellis, (lead), Earl Youthful (bass), Val Walker, and Russell Boston, all from your Wide & Lehigh part of North Philly. They documented “DO NOT Go”/”Have confidence in Me,” for Bullseye Information in 1958 and didn’t obtain the opportunity once again until 1961 when “THE VERY BEST of My Center”/”LET GO,” dropped on Bargain Information. Neither part was greater than a regional play even though the group held busy doing regional gigs and constructed a little status around town, nothing at all really happened to them. Later on in 1961, Ellis, Youthful, Walker, and Boston became the Whirlwinds and experienced produces on Guyden and Phillips Information. Ellis and Small later on, after many efforts, discovered a modicum of achievement using the Trammps, mentioned for the quintessential disco strike “Disco Inferno.” Furthermore, Youthful became a popular program musician and documented with Ron Baker and Norman Harris as Baker, Harris, & Youthful.
