Based away of Indianapolis, Indiana, progressive steel quintet the Contortionist pull from affects as diverse as Meshuggah, Wish Theater, Isis, Hurry, and Pat Metheny. Produced in 2007 throughout the abilities of vocalist Jonathan Carpenter, guitarists Robby Baca and Cameron Maynard, bass participant Christopher Tilley, and drummer Joey Baca, the music group released a set of EPs (Shapeshifter and Apparition) in 2008 and 2009, respectively, before unleashing their well-received full-length debut, Exoplanet, this year 2010. The Contortionist’s sophomore outing, Intrinsic, found its way to 2012 by method of E1/Good Combat Music.
