The Come Ons

Biography

The Come Ons emerged in 1999 featuring ex-Gore Gore Female Deanne Iovan on bass, vocals, and vintage organ, guitarist Jim Johnson, and Dirtbombs drummer Patrick Pantano carrying out twice duty behind the Come Ons’ kit. While their dance-y, soul-inspired grooves had been an immediate feeling in Detroit, the music group didn’t debut on polish immediately. First there is 2000’s “Watcha Got?” 7″ for Sympathy for the Record Sector, followed immediately after by an eponymous full-length for the label. A season afterwards, the trio added to Jack port White’s well-known (and famously lo-fi) Sympathetic Noises of Detroit comp, and implemented that up with the Hip Verify! LP. The group’s reputation in Detroit wasn’t astonishing; in the end, the Arrive Ons drew liberally in the classic D-Town design information of punk, female group, and rave-up revivalist R&B. The group continuing to tear factors up in 2002 and 2003, launching the “Don’t Inform Me” 7″ for the U.K.’s Special Nothing at all imprint, and saving their third full-length at Jim Diamond’s Ghetto Recorders.
