The Clark Sisters

Among the best female gospel groupings in america, the Clark Sisters were led by organist/vocalist Elbernita “Twinkie” Clark-Terrell. The five sisters possess continued to broaden the legacy started by their mom, Dr. Mattie Moss Clark. Dr. Clark, who offered as Country wide Music Department leader from the Cathedral of God in Christ located in Memphis and founded the Clark Conservatory of Music in Detroit, where in fact the sisters continue steadily to show, was the initial gospel artist to become awarded a silver record and presented the idea of choirs performing in tenor soprano and alto areas. In 1983, the Clark Sisters documented a crossover dance strike, “You Bring sunlight.” In June 1996, the Clark Sisters documented an album using the FAMU Gospel Choir of Florida A&M University.
