The Cave Singers

Given the increasing popularity of meditative, folky indie acts in the first 2000s, forming a twangy, rootsy folk trio was most likely the least astonishing move Derek Fudesco might have produced. The previous bassist and founding person in the effective indie rock and roll group Pretty Women Make Graves found an classical guitar and shaped the Cave Performers pursuing PGMG’s demise in January 2007, teaming up with vocalist Pete Quirk (previously of Hint Hint) and drummer Marty Lund (previously of Cobra Large). Though no “formal” member, ex-PGMGer Andrea Zollo came out within the group’s 1st recording like a vocalist and washboard participant. Sketching from canonical folkies like Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie, and sounding greater than a small like additional early-2000s works like Lightning Dirt, the Snake the Mix the Crown, and Samamidon, the group got its 1st recording, Invitation Tracks, recorded and all set (thanks a lot in large component to Black Hill maker Colin Stewart) within weeks of PGMG’s separation. Matador found the trio immediately after, and carrying out a few delays Invitation Tracks was slated for launch in late Sept. The extended group spent 2012 focusing on its summery 4th record, Naomi, that was released on Jagjaguar in early 2013. In 2015, the Cave Performers began focus on their 5th record, and instead of working with an archive firm, they opted to organize the task themselves and financed the documenting by way of a crowdfunding advertising campaign. The advertising campaign elevated 116 percent from the group’s objective, and the record, Banshee, premiered in Feb 2016.
