The Catenary Cables are a Uk indie pop duo featuring Amelia Fletcher and Rob Pursey, both formerly from the rings Marine Study, Sportique, and Heavenly. After placing their latest band, Tender Capture, on hiatus in 2014, the few relocated from London to the tiny city of Tenterden without serious plans to keep making music. In a short time, however, that they had started writing some quiet, melancholic tunes on the daughter’s little ¾-scale classical guitar. On the whim, they decided to perform like a duo in Bristol at a gig celebrating Sarah Information, a now-defunct indie pop label they’d previously been associated with. Influenced by their reception, they made a decision to keep on and called their new music group the Catenary Cables after the string of curves created by suspended over head electrical cables. They released an individual, “Intravenous,” in early 2015, after that their debut mini-album, Crimson Crimson Skies, on Spanish indie Elefant Information afterwards that same calendar year.
