The Carollons

The Carollons were formed in NY, USA, in the mid-50s. Originally known as the Emeralds, the quintet highlighted Robert Dunson, Irving Brodsky, Artie Levy, Jimmy Laffey and Tyler Volks. Volks and Dunson had been shortly changed by Richard Jackson and Eric Nathonson. Motivated with the Moonglows as well as the Dells, they composed a lot of their very own materials. ‘Chapel Of Tears’ was their debut discharge on Mohawk in 1958 and was a significant local achievement. They toured the north-east over summer and winter and made an appearance on Clay Cole’s tv program. The greater pop-orientated ‘Keep Me Close’ adopted but didn’t build on the initial discovery. When ‘You State’ was also overlooked the group vanished with it.
