The Butler Twins

Clarence and Curtis Butler are two longtime beacons around the Detroit-area blues picture, along with two recently recorded albums for the London-based JSP Information, they could finally commence to garner a wider following beyond Detroit. The brothers’ albums for JSP consist of Pursue Your Dreams (1996) rather than Gonna BE WORRIED ABOUT Tomorrow (1995). Guitarist Clarence and harmonica participant Curtis Butler was raised near W.C. Handy’s birthplace of Florence, Alabama, about 30 kilometers from your Mississippi Delta. They required their first musical cues using their dad, guitarist Willie “Butch” Butler, who was simply famous in your community but never documented. The twins relocated to Detroit within the 1960 and quickly discovered work in Engine City auto vegetation. The club picture at that time was flourishing, using the music of John Lee Hooker, Small Sonny, Bo Collins, Bobo Jenkins and a large number of others spilling from the city’s juke bones.
