The Bronx Horns

Formed within the mid-90s, the group became extremely popular using its tough-edged type of Latin jazz. Bronx Horns was shaped by tenor saxophonist and flautist Mitch Frohman, who got spent some 25 years as an associate of Tito Puente’s music group. In this same period, Frohman was also presented soloist with Mango Santamaría and in addition has caused the Machito orchestra, Joe Cuba, Eddie Palmieri, Ray Barretto, Bloodstream, Perspiration And Tears, among many, and he’s innovator of La Tropica Orchestra. Frohman in addition has done film and tv soundtracks. One of the latter, he’s the saxophone soloist within the theme from Sex In THE TOWN. Frohman was became a member of in the first line-up from the Bronx Horns by two additional Puente sidemen, Ray Vega (trumpet/flügelhorn) and Bobby Porcelli (alto saxophone). Frohman, Vega and Porcelli all resided within the Bronx, therefore the music group’s name. The group’s tempo section presented Oscar Hernández (piano), Bernie Minoso (bass; also a Puente alumni), Willie Martinez (drums), and George Delgado, Wilson ‘Chembo’ Corniel and Johnny Rodriguez (percussion), the second option the director from the carrying on Tito Puente Orchestra following a leader’s death.
