The Brass Ring

The Brass Band was a fresh York City-based, Supplement Alpert-esque outfit in the ’60s, led by reed player Phil Bodner. The group specific in a short-lived musical design called “the Today Sound,” that was generally instrumental and possessed a looser tempo than Alpert’s brand design. The Brass Band scored several minimal hits within the ’60s, their best-known getting “The Like Theme in the Flight from the Phoenix,” while another of the music, “The Dis-Advantages of You,” was found in some TV advertisements for Benson and Hedges tobacco. Bodner as well as the Brass Band issued several generally overlooked albums throughout their short profession, including such game titles as Like Theme in the Flight from the Phoenix, Lara’s Theme, The Dis-Advantages of You, The Today Sound, Gazpacho, in support of Love, furthermore to many best-of compilations.
