The Bluegrass Album Band

The Bluegrass Recording Music group was a bluegrass supergroup formed in 1980. Originally, the music group presented J.D. Crowe, Doyle Lawson, Tony Grain, Bobby Hicks, and Todd Phillips. All the members were referred to as intensifying bluegrass musicians, however the Bluegrass Recording Band was made to showcase the original side of the talents. Their 1st recording, The Bluegrass Recording, was intended like a one-shot task, but it demonstrated so successful that this group documented four additional albums during the period of the 10 years. Over time, the lineup from the Bluegrass Recording Music group shifted, but Crowe, Lawson, and Grain remained its primary users. The group’s last recording, The Bluegrass Recording, Vol. 5: Nice Sunny South, premiered in 1989 and presented Crowe, Lawson, Grain, Vassar Clements, Jerry Douglas, and Tag Schatz.
