The Black Ghosts

The Black Spirits certainly are a dance-pop twosome featuring vocalist Simon Lord, formerly of Simian, and Wiseguys’ programmer/multi-instrumentalist Theo Keating, aka DJ Touche. Both Keating and Lord result from musical backgrounds: Keating’s grandfather was an oboist using the London Symphony Orchestra who performed in the Beatles’ “PER DAY in the life span” as well as the Superstar Wars theme, while Lord’s dad was an electric musician who constructed synthesizers, including white sound generators along with a “Bio Activity Translator,” which changed the electric areas of plant life into analog noises. The pair linked after Lord still left Simian (which in turn became the greater dance-oriented Simian Portable Disco) and released their debut one, Encounter, in 2006 on Southern Fried Information. The duo after that released a slew of paths in 2007, including “A WAY Through This” and “In any case You decide to Provide It,” and remixed simply as many tracks, like the Gossip’s “PAY ATTENTION!” Afterwards that season, The Dark Ghosts toured the U.K. as well as the U.S before releasing a combination recording in 2008. Their self-titled debut recording arrived that summer time, with Damon Albarn offering visitor vocals for the leadoff solitary “Repetition Kills You.”
