The Big Three

Around enough time the Beatles began recording, the best Three were among their biggest Liverpool rivals. Their then-novel power trio assault was anchored by drummer Johnny “Hutch” Hutchinson, who in fact stuffed the drum arranged for the Beatles as a crisis replacement on several gigs. Managed by Brian Epstein aswell, the best Three had been renowned locally as a hardcore, R&B-inflected clothing, but were designed to cover pop materials more fitted to Gerry & the Pacemakers of all of the singles. The group just were able to cut four singles in 1963 and 1964, and a Live on the Cavern EP which was the only public release documented at perhaps one of the most renowned rock clubs ever. Several these singles dented the United kingdom Best 40 briefly, however the primary lineup split up in past due 1963; bassist Johnny Gustafson continued to become listed on the Merseybeats for a while and performed on three albums by Roxy Music within the ’70s. While eyewitness accounts affirm which the Big Three had been a robust live outfit, these were unsuccessful at translating this energy to record, which doomed their position to some footnote from the British Invasion.
