Vocalist Lisa Kekaula guitarist Bob Venuum shaped the BellRays around 1990 in Riverside, CA. Originally, the duo leaned greatly on an antique R&B audio flecked with smoky jazz overtones. But with the help of guitarist Tony Destiny and Venumm shifting to bass, the sound quickly began to blend Kekaula’s alley kitty soul vocals having a biting punk very cheap end.
