The Bearcats

Playing Cajun music with stunning authority and verve, this UK strap was shaped in 1991. Led by Chris Hall (b. 2 July 1952, Sheffield, Yorkshire, Britain; accordion/vocals), the music group contains Mitch Proctor (b. David Proctor, 8 Dec 1952, Heanor, Derbyshire, Britain; fiddle, steel acoustic guitar, vocals), Murray Brailsford (acoustic guitar/vocals), and Sam Murray (drums). Among additional rings with which Hall is usually connected are R. Cajun AS WELL AS THE Zydeco Brothers, with which Proctor also takes on, and Zydecomotion. Hall also operates Swamp Music, a business that among many actions releases information and books performers, focusing on Cajun and zydeco rings. Among going to Cajun music artists with whom the Bearcats been employed by are John Delafose, Courtney Granger, Beau Jocque, Eddie LeJeune, D.L. Menard, Willis Prudhomme, Steve Riley (with whom they toured the united kingdom in 1996), Tasso (the Cajun revival trio), Balfa Toujours and Sean Vidrine. Without exclusion, the visiting music artists have been saturated in compliment for the Bearcats and their genuine sound. Furthermore to playing through the entire UK, the music group in addition has toured European countries, this exposure assisting bring honours to Hall, as Greatest Cajun Accordion Participant in the Western Cajun and Zydeco Honours, also to Proctor, who received as Greatest Cajun Fiddle Participant.
