The Baskerville Hounds

Cleveland rock’n’roll quintet the Baskerville Hounds was formed in 1964 by ex-Grasshoppers singer/guitarist Dante Rossi, business lead guitarist Lawrence Meese, bassist William Emery, keyboardist Jack port Topper and drummer Michael Macron. Originally dubbed the Dantes, the group was quickly renamed the Tulu Infants in mention of a catch term popularized by their supervisor, WWHK radio character Ron Brittain; in early 1965 they obtained a massive regional hit using their debut solitary “Hurtin’ Kind,” released on local maker Jim Testa’s TEMA label, so when Testa assumed managerial responsibilities months later on, he rechristened his costs the Baskerville Hounds. The singles “Debbie,” “Space Rock and roll” (Parts 1 & 2) and “Xmas IS HERE NOW” soon adopted, and after liberating “WHATEVER YOU Had to accomplish Was Inquire” on TEMA in 1966, the group authorized to Dot the next year release a their lone LP, The Baskerville Hounds Offering Space Rock and roll.
