The Banjo Kings

The Banjo Kings were among the hardly any (only if) groups recorded by the nice Period Jazz label in the 1950s that may be considered a little corny. Created by banjoists Dick Roberts and Crimson Roundtree in 1951, the music group experienced either Joe Heimlich, Ernie Anderson or Vito Mumolo on third banjo, and also a three-piece tempo section that always included pianist Stan Wrightsman; they performed at Dixieland celebrations and made many records, that a Compact disc sampler known as Favorites was released in the past due ’80s. The Banjo Kings’ music tended to add some rags, pop music in the 1920s and previously, and singalongs.
