The Bangs

Formed in LA, California, USA, in 1981 through the ashes from the Colors. The line-up was Susanna Hoffs (b. 17 January 1959, Newport Seaside, California, USA; vocals/acoustic guitar), Vicki Peterson (b. Victoria Anne Theresa Peterson, 11 January 1958, Northridge, California, USA; vocals/acoustic guitar) and Debbi Peterson (b. Deborah Peterson, 22 August 1961, San Fernando Valley, Northridge, California, USA; drums), later on joined up with by Annette Zilinskas (bass) following the launch of their debut solitary. Early comparisons towards the Go-Go’s became an albatross rounded their necks that, in this type at least, they hardly ever really escaped. They produced their debut in 1981 with ‘Obtaining Out Of Hands’, released on Down Kiddies Information. This was accompanied by an EP for EastWest Information. Despite their apparent ‘pop’ charm, the Bangs even so performed frequently with regional punk and hardcore rings like the Descendents and Route 3. They discovered much greater achievement as the Bangles, though Zilinskas departed before their discovery to join Bloodstream OVER THE Saddle.
