Biography
Charlie and Danny Bailey were popular radio performers in Western world Virginia and Tennessee through the later ’40s and ’50s and were one of the couple of fraternal duets to successfully produce the changeover from old-time music to bluegrass. The Bailey Brothers had been born to a big, musically inclined family members in Content Valley, Tennessee. Charlie produced his professional performing debut in 1936 when he teamed up with Charlie Deal and started touring. He and sibling Danny teamed soon after, and quickly they were performing on regional radio. In 1940 they visited Knoxville to try out on WNOX and WROL, and quickly gained a dedicated following. However in 1941, right before they were to create their documenting debut, Charlie was inducted in to the Military. While he was eliminated, Danny founded the Content Valley Males, and continued to be in Knoxville. By 1944, the Happy Valley Males had relocated to Nashville and had been appearing around the Grand Ole Opry. The group transformed staff when two users were drafted. These were changed by Charlie and Lester Deal. In 1946, Charlie came back as well as the Copes remaining to find their very own fame.
