Biography

The Backsliders were an alternative-traditional country-rock music group from NEW YORK comprised of guitarist Steve Howell, frontman and acoustic guitarist Chip Robinson, bassman Danny Kurtz, Jeff Dennis on drums, and Brad Grain rounding things out along with his guitar. In 1994, motivated by Buck Owens, Webb Pierce, as well as the honky tonk lifestyle, Howell and Robinson come up with the Backsliders and began playing clubs within their region. Both Howell and Robinson had been working with additional acts at that time.
