Biography

The Bachelors were an Irish pop music group from the 1960s comprising brothers Conleth (b.March 3, 1941) and Declan Clusky (b. Dec 12, 1942) and John Stokes (b. August 13, 1940). They started as an instrumental work playing harmonicas and known as the Harmonichords or Tranquility Chords in 1958, but considered singing following a tour of Britain in 1959. They agreed upon to Decca Information within the U.K. and transformed their name in 1962, after that scored their initial strike, “Charmaine” (amount six, 1963). Their biggest strike was “Diane” which visited number 1 in Britain and amount ten in the us in 1964; they continuing to graph with new information through 1967 and taken care of the initial group for the cabaret circuit until a messy divide between Stokes as well as the Cluskys in 1984.
