The Ashes

Formed in LA, California, USA, this folk rock and roll attraction initially comprised Pat Taylor (vocals), John Merrill (guitar), Al Brackett (bass) and Spencer Dryden (b. 7 Apr 1938, NEW YORK, NY, USA, d. 11 January 2005, Petaluma, California, USA; drums), although Jim Voigt succeeded the last mentioned on his departure for Jefferson Aircraft in 1966. The reshaped line-up finished two singles, including a cover edition of Paul Simon’s ‘Homeward Bound’, before Taylor was changed by Sandi Robinson. Guitarist Lance Fent was also put into the music group which, in past due 1966, got the name the Peanut Butter Conspiracy. The Ashes’ legacy had not been altogether neglected as many archive selections made an appearance for the compilation Western world Coastline Love-In (1967). The breakthrough of further unreleased recordings resulted in the release from the Ashes in 1968.
