Biography
A zany eight-piece (or even more) ska device in the bleached-out California coastline, Aquabats earned respect for an energized brand-new influx of ska-punk from statistics which range from Courtney Want to the Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Squirrel Nut Zippers. Evidently led by vocalist Christian Jacobs (“The Bat Commander”), the group — which impersonated an alternative horde of thugs in the ’60s Batman series on each LP cover — also included a bunch of multi-instrumentalists: Adam Briggs (Jaime the Automatic robot), Courtney Pollack (the Prince of Karate), Adam Diebert (Prince Adam), Chad Larson (Crash McLarson), Travis Barker (the Baron Von Tito), Charles Gray (Ultra Kyu), and Boyd Terry (Catboy). The debut Aquabats record, Return from the Aquabats, premiered on Horchata Information in middle-1996. Their sophomore record, Fury from the Aquabats, implemented in 1997 promptly Bomb, and 2 yrs afterwards the group came back with Aquabats vs. the Floating Eyes of Death! When Barker still left the group to become listed on blink-182, he was changed by drummer Dr. Rock and roll. Myths, Legends as well as other Amazing Ventures, Vol. 2 premiered in fall 2000; Dr. Rock and roll and Ultra Kyu still left the group immediately after. Ricky Fitness was Rock’s substitute. The Critical Awesomeness! Dvd movie, a compendium of live Aquabats, made an appearance in 2003; the HAVE A LOOK AT This Trip EP implemented. When Charge!! (Nitro) made an appearance in June 2005, it had been the Aquabats’ initial LP in nearly six years. By that time the band’s formal lineup included vocalist Bat Commander, bassist Crash McLarson, guitarist Chainsaw, drummer Fitness, and sax-playing keyboardist Jimmy the Automatic robot.
