The Antlers

Evolving from Peter Silberman’s bedroom recordings to a completely realized strap, for Brooklyn-based the Antlers, what began as a single lo-fi folk task progressed quickly right into a colossal-sounding chamber pop group. After self-recording a small number of albums within a kamikaze style — Uprooted (documented right before and after relocating 2007), The Feb Tape (documented in a bath tub within an hour), Within the Attic from the World (an individual ambient song extended into an record), and Cool War (an record with only classical guitar and vocals, documented in weekly) — Silberman established to record his opus, Hospice, in July of 2007. Documented during the period of almost 2 yrs, Hospice began as another single task before Silberman began incorporating other music artists, including drummer Michael Lerner and multi-instrumentalist Darby Cicci, who ultimately finished up as long lasting members from the Antlers. Upon its discharge, Hospice received important acclaim, with NPR and Pitchfork shouting high praises. After touring behind the record, the Antlers came back to the studio room for a far more electronic-minded follow-up entitled Burst Apart, that was released in 2011. The record was shortly implemented that same season by the Jointly EP and in the summertime of 2012 the group released Undersea, a four tune EP with an aquatic theme in addition to general sound. It wasn’t until 2014 they came back with fourth record Familiars, documented entirely with the music group at their Brooklyn studio room, then blended by Chris Coady, known for his studio room work with Seaside Home, Yeah Yeah Yeahs as well as other indie stars.
