Thaíde & DJ Hum

When DJ Altair Gonçalves and breakdancer Humberto Martins met in 1980, they didn’t understand they might be among the first Brazilian hip-hop duos, Thaíde & DJ Hum. In 1988, they got onto the collection HIPHOP Cultura de Rua making use of their tunes “Corpo Fechado” and “Homens da Lei.” The nice performance from the tunes within the dance songs brought them an instantaneous invitation for his or her first solo recording, Pergunte a Quem Conhece, released in 1989, and accompanied by three others. Among their biggest strikes is definitely “Sr. Tempo Bom” (from Preste Atenção, 1996). The duo is still well-known in its live shows in São Paulo nightclubs.
