Tex Johnson


b. 30 Oct 1960, St. Vincent, Western world Indies. Johnson emigrated along with his family members to the united kingdom within the 60s, completing his education in Stratford, east London. His preliminary documenting was a self-production with David Tyrone of Business, ‘I Wanna Keep You FOREVER Long’. Encouraged from the product sales of his debut he made a decision to manage his career using the inauguration from the Discotex label. The task proved encouraging using the launch of Johnson’s effective follow-up, ‘Cushion Chat’, which demonstrated a massive strike in 1981. In 1982 he documented ‘Cork Inna Dance’ using the UK-based maker Lloyd Cave, which helped to financing further releases beneath the Discotex banner, including ‘Reggae Rhumba’ and ‘Like To Like You’. His Xmas launch was a twice a-sided graph buster within the enthusiasts rock design, ‘Honey’, and an exhibition of his DJ design on ‘Ladies Girls Ladies’. By 1983 he released ‘Body Snatch’ and ‘Masses Of People’, both in conjunction with DJ Rating Ivan, together with ‘Womaniser’ and ‘Can’t MANAGE Without You’. The strikes continuing with ‘The Lady Following Door’, ‘Track Book Of Like’, ‘Inquire FOR ANY Dance’ and a superb mixture hit with Annette Brisset, ‘Vision To Vision’. Throughout his profession he offers released several effective albums but continues to be struggling to emulate the runaway achievement of ‘Cushion Talk’ within the singles marketplace. As a manufacturer he carved a significant niche within the revival marketplace when he enrolled Errol V, Blacksteel and Hector Combination, sibling of Sandra Combination, to execute as Klearview Harmonix for the phenomenally effective Happy Thoughts compilations. The albums highlighted faultless cover variations of reggae classics made by Johnson. Quantity 5 from the series highlighted Paulette Tajah executing classic fans rock hits. Within the 90s he focused on his creation abilities, although in 1992 he documented ‘That’s Lifestyle’. He proceeds to create and discharge fans and root base compilations, asserting his dreams towards ‘Keeping reggae music special, clean, adoring and mindful’.
