Terrie Richards Alden

Sacramento-born vocalist Terrie Richards Alden started her performing career when she was only 15 yrs . old, supported by her jazz pianist father. She began with Dixieland and steadily shifted to mainstream materials. In 1982, Alden shifted to Orlando, FL, where she caused Harry Allen at Disneyland. One consequence of that cooperation was a 1982 documenting with Allen, Sense Groovy, for the Disney label. In 1986, she agreed upon a contract using the Community Lounge, the Disneyland jazz nightclub. Over time, she sang there with Crazy Costs Davison, Don Scaletta, Milt Hinton, among others. In the first ’90s, Alden shifted to NY after marrying jazz electric guitar great Howard Alden. In ny, she’s caused such jazz notables as Dick Hyman, Peanuts Hucko, Ken Peplowski, Randy Sandke, and Jake Hanna. As well as the Disney documenting, Terrie has made an appearance with tenor guy Rex Allens in 1994 on his Golf swing Express record for Nagel-Heyer and on his I Cried for you personally for the Mastermix label. For Nagel-Heyer, she was on drummer Butch Kilometers’ 1995 launch, Cookin’. IN-MAY of 1998, Nagel-Heyer released Alden’s 1st solo album, Tone of voice With a Center, sharing billing using the Warren Vache Quartet, including her spouse. The album gathers 13 mainly upbeat requirements that tripped her Mildred Bailey-like tone of voice. There’s also suggestions of Ella Fitzgerald and Blossom Dearie in her renditions of the songs. She proceeds to perform right here and in European countries with her spouse at clubs with jazz celebrations in LA, Sacramento, and Edinburgh, with the JVC Event.
