Though their songs are sharp, upbeat, and catchy, Tenement aren’t yet another pop-punk band (and not simply because they don’t really look after the phrase “pop-punk”); boasting a lyrical cleverness and eagerness to improvise that units them aside from their peers, Tenement deliver a robust live display while revealing a far more nuanced and experimental part in the studio room. Tenement had been created in 2006 by guitarist and vocalist Amos Pitsch, who’s also in charge of the impressive collage artwork that decorates the band’s record sleeves and posters. Given birth to and elevated in Appleton, Wisconsin, Pitsch began playing drums when he was seven, and quickly created a makeshift music group along with his cousins. Pitsch relocated up to acoustic guitar when he created his 1st punk music group, the Waffles, in 2001. Pitsch fulfilled bassist Jesse Ponkamo if they had been both going to the same senior high school; Ponkamo, a sophomore, have been producing noise with close friends in hardcore and grindcore rings for quite some time prior to conference freshman Pitsch. When Ponkamo finished up at a jam program at Pitsch’s home, the two made a decision to type a band called the Heatseekers, but by enough time the brand new group started playing out, the band’s deal with experienced become Tenement.
