Hailing from Lewis in the External Hebrides, Scotland, this Gaelic folk music group was shaped in 2004 by Lynsey MacRitchie (piano, fiddle, djembe), Michelle Morrison (vocals, piano), Catriona Watt (vocals, fiddle, whistle) and Judie Morrison (clarsach, fiddle, vocals). All of the members fulfilled while their studies at the Nicolson Institute in Stornoway, the primary town around the remote control Lewis. The quartet produced the usual circular of looks at ceilidhs and regional folk clubs, and in addition played in the Hebridean Celtic Event as well as the Celtic Contacts concert at Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall. Their documenting debut, L? n Tighe Chaileagan (A RESIDENCE FILLED WITH Lasses), completed prior to the quartet departed to help expand their musical education around the mainland, premiered by the Feet Stompin’ label in 2006.
