Teddy Kotick

The prototype bassist and a popular of Charlie Parker’s, Teddy Kotick preferred supporting the frontline and interacting within the rhythm section to displaying his considerable skills on solos. Kotick began monitoring electric guitar at six, after that considered bass in senior high school. He proved helpful in New Britain before shifting to NY in 1948. Kotick used Johnny Bothwell, Pal Full, Tony Pastor, Pal DeFranco, Artie Shaw, Stan Getz and Charlie Parker from 1948 to 1954.
