This UK rock quartet was formed in 1987 by vocalist Gary Mielle and drummer Mick Ransome (ex-Praying Mantis). With Cris ‘CJ’ Jagdhar (b. 27 Dec 1967, Britain) and Darayus Z. Kaye (bass) completing the line-up, they drew motivation from the brand new York Dolls, Ramones and Hanoi Stones. Blood loss Hearts And Needle Marks in 1988 demonstrated they could create instant, if eventually disposable, sleazy rock and roll anthems that possessed a amount of naïve elegance. The album offered poorly as well as the music group disintegrated in 1989, with Jagdhar heading on to sign up for the Wildhearts. Tattooed Like Boys had been resurrected in 1991 using the nucleus of Ransome and Mielle plus fresh recruits Dean Marshall (bass), Nick Singleton (acoustic guitar) and Chris Danby (tempo guitar). VIRTUALLY NO TIME For Nursery Rhymes ’ attempt at a far more sophisticated approach didn’t work. The effect was an amateurish affair that hinted at plagiarism of Weapons N’Roses. Ransome resurfaced in 1995 in a fresh music group known as the Gang Display, which also presented former users of Canines D’Amour and Motörhead.
