Tasteless

Swiss quintet Tasteless was shaped in Domdidier, Switzerland, in 1997 by vocalist/guitarist Mario Weiss, bassist François Maillard, and drummer Jerôme Szmoniewsky. Even though the three kept close ties with one another since years as a child, the group would proceed through many lineup adjustments over the next four years, with Weiss staying as the just first member. In the first times, the trio was mainly a cover music group, using the bandmembers executing tracks by numerous grunge and post-grunge organizations while concurrently honing their songwriting abilities. It didn’t consider miss the group to include a second guitarist; prior to the end of 1997 another child years friend, Sami Isoz, packed that slot machine, but vacated it nearly as quickly when he remaining in 1998 for any yearlong sabbatical in Canada. Tasteless recruited guitarist Alexandre Rossier to fill up the vacancy until Isoz came back, and in 1999 this brand-new quartet went in to the studio room to record its debut EP, Broken Wing, which helped the music group protected some higher-profile gigs. As the group begun to collect some local interest, Weiss and Maillard made a decision that it might be in the band’s greatest interest to displace Szmoniewsky with Stéphane Eichenberger, a far more accomplished drummer. Soon after this modification, Isoz came back from Canada to reclaim his placement in the group, and Tasteless going back to the studio room to record their initial full-length. The bandmembers asked sound engineer Sacha Ruffieux, whom that they had fulfilled while executing at the Rock and roll Oz’Arènes festival, to greatly help them combine the recently laid paths, and Ruffieux, unmoved by the grade of the recording, asked these to re-record the tracks at his studio room. They decided, but rather than re-recording the same materials, they arrived with an album’s worthy of of brand-new materials and a 5th member, cellist Camille Burgy. Ruffieux, impressed using the group’s brand-new direction, joined up with Tasteless by changing Maillard on bass responsibilities in 2001. On the conclusion of their full-length, self-titled debut, Tasteless agreed upon with Swiss indie Saiko Information, which released the record in nov 2003.
