Tardo Hammer

NY pianist Tardo Hammer can be an adroit jazz musician having a bent toward advanced post-bop. Created in Queens in 1958, Hammer 1st started playing piano around age group five. Although he also spent period learning clarinet and acoustic guitar, by his teenagers he was an ardent pianist. In 1977, Hammer shifted to Chelsea in Manhattan and started playing locally, sketching motivation from such jazz legends as Barry Harris, Cedar Walton, Tommy Flanagan, among others. Through the ’80s, he frequently worked like a sideman, carrying out with performers like Lou Donaldson, Artwork Farmer, Lionel Hampton, and Johnny Griffin. He created further like a leader within the ’90s, touring along with his personal trio in European countries and Japan and support performers like Abbey Lincoln, Conte Candoli, Annie Ross, and much more. As a single designer, Hammer debuted with Bopera Home (1988), accompanied by Hammer Period (1999). Ultimately settling back NY, Hammer’s recording result increased with many albums on Clear Nine, including Somethin’ Unique (2001), Tardo’s Tempo (2004), and appearance Stop and Pay attention: The Music of Tadd Dameron (2007). In 2013, Hammer shipped Simple Pleasure over the Cellar Live label. 2 yrs afterwards, he became a member of cornet participant Warren Vach√©’s quintet for Remembers Benny Carter.
