Like Negativland and folks Like Us, the Tape-Beatles are sonic magpies, weaving excerpts of radio displays, news, commercials, movies, and Television shows, in addition to snippets of older information and pop singles — using the group’s namesake being truly a favorite focus on. John Heck, Lloyd Dunn, Paul Neff, and Ralph Johnson will be the press manipulators/liberators behind the Tape-Beatles (and their sister task, Public Functions), and Soleilmoon/Staalplaat reissued their 1988 recording, A Subtle Buoyancy of Pulse, in 1998.
