Pursuing Arish Ahmad Khan’s various music projects will get a little bewildering, as may the various titles he files under, including Blacksnake and Ruler Khan. Khan isn’t one’s garden-variety anything — created in Canada of Indian descent, he in some way finished up fronting a ragged garage area spirit clothing out of Germany that appears and appears like it stepped out of the John Waters film. Whether documenting and carrying out as the Ruler Khan & BBQ Display, the Black Lip area, the Almighty Defenders, Ruler Khan & the Shrines, or under various other moniker, Khan offers produced an amazingly consistent make of spicy, skewed rockabilly spirit. He teamed with Bloodshot Expenses (as the Tandoori Knights) to record the brilliantly ramshackle Curry Up recording for Norton Information this year 2010.
