Tallboys

Although it had existed in infancy at Oberlin College, Tallboys began in earnest once Aziza Wishnow, Vanessa Roworth, and Sheila Donovan graduated and reunited in NEW YORK. So when the task finally did grab steam, awesome rock and roll star names had been the very first purchase of business. Drummer Wishnow became Aziza Vis a Vis, guitarist Roworth was right now Vanessa Vehicle Ness, and vocalist/guitarist Donovan was reborn as Sheila Sixteen. Musically, the combo drew liberally from your post-punk cannon, marrying power-drill acoustic guitar lines to jittery bass and Sixteen’s manic vocal histrionics. In Oct 2003 Tallboys documented an EP for the brand new Shirt indie Jak Attak, and captured a large break per month later once the Yeah Yeah Yeahs asked them from tour. That jaunt brought them through the brand new year, of which stage Tallboys began finding your way through the Feb 2004 launch of Scallywag Label. By this aspect bassist Ryan Byzantine have been put into the lineup.
